Dear Friends and Family,
I've achieved my goal of completing a 26.2 mile marathon. I feel accomplished and energized, but mostly I feel determined to continue down this path I have laid out in front of me. I am now a marathoner. I will continue to run and challenge myself to new levels. I will continue to be an example that determination does pay off. And I will ever be so grateful to the wonderful group of people that helped make this a reality for me… from the coaches to my pace group and especially to everyone who has been generous enough to make a donation to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.
Since April, I’ve been training to complete the Maui Marathon. Since April, I’ve also been working to raise as much money as possible for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). I’m not by any means a professional fundraiser. But AFC’s work is so compelling, I feel I need to do my part. It’s the least I can do.
Training and fundraising for a great cause have been eye-opening, insightful experiences. I’ve enjoyed donating my time and effort towards helping humans live a better life. I like knowing that these physical and mental challenges I have put myself through have proven to be worth every second.
So… the fundraising continues! I have until January 31st to reach my goal of $5,000, or at least reach the minimum amount required of $3,500. If you have not made a donation yet, there is still time! It's very simple, just click the button "Donate" and follow the steps. Thanks very much supporting the AFC.
