In 2006, I, along with my best friend Brenda Kelly, formed a two-person team in to raise money for people living with AIDS in the Chicagoland area by training for and running a 26.2-mile marathon with the National AIDS Marathon Training Program. In 2007 and 2008 we did it all over again, ran our second and third marathons, and, all told, have raised over $13,000 for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. Here we are in 2009, and are now known as Team Good Karma. Sadly, this year Brenda cannot train with me, much as I know she would like to.
This year I will be training for the Chicago Marathon, and am asking for your support. Aside from this being a personal accomplishment, this particular cause is very close to me, as my Uncle Bill died from AIDS related complications when I was a teenager.
The money raised from the AIDS Marathon Training Program will allow the AIDS Foundation of Chicago to fund direct medical care, food, housing, and other vital AIDS services — to help keep people with HIV/AIDS alive until there’s a cure. I am committed to raising another $2,000 for this noble cause. To that end, I am asking for your support.
I would be so grateful for any donation you can make to help me meet this goal. It only takes a few moments to make a contribution. Together, we can take pride in improving the lives of those suffering here in our community.
We thank you so much for supporting not only me, but also countless AIDS victims in Chicago.
Please donate today by clicking the button to the left that says, “Sponsor Me.”
With many thanks, Greg Larson - One-Half of Team Good Karma
