Welcome to Daniel's Page!
April 20th marked the 4 year anniversary of my Uncle John's death. To commemorate this I ran the London Marathon on April 25th with TEAM TO END AIDS (T2). I then completed the San Diego Marathon in June of this year and I have now committed to completing not just two marathons in 2010, but 4! I will now run the New York City Marathon on November 7, AND return to where my marathoning started...the Honolulu Marathon on December 12!
Have I lost my mind? No...everyday 1.2 million Americans live with HIV/AIDS and 40,000 more will become infected this year! Every 9 and 1/2 minutes someone in the United States is infected with HIV and over half of them will not know they have it.
That is why I continue to push myself and train to go further and further in support of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). AFC is leading the fight against HIV/AIDS by funding prevention programs and services such as medical care, food and housing, to stop the spread of HIV and help people live full and productive lives until the day there’s a cure.
Support me in my training and to reach my fundraising goal. Together, we can TRIUMPH over HIV/AIDS. (Click the “Sponsor Me” button to the left.)
Thank you!
Special Thanks to my sister, Linda, who donated her airline miles for my flight to London and Honolulu.
