Welcome to Anne's Page!
Dear Friends and Family,
I’ve decided to take on the challenge by joining TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) and help in the fight against HIV/AIDS and Perinatal transmission of HIV!
The Pediatric AIDS Chicago Prevention Initiative was established in 2000 with the express intent of eradicating the transmission of HIV/AIDS from mother to child in the city of Chicago. Since then, we expanded our mission to include the entire state of Illinois. Through unprecedented collaborations with public and private institutions and community-based organizations, PACPI creates a Safety Net of Prevention so that no HIV-positive pregnant woman or HIV-exposed infant falls through the cracks for care and treatment in Illinois. PACPI’s resources address the co-morbid conditions that complicate pregnancy, including substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness, community and domestic violence and other sexually transmitted infections. Our work is accomplished through a 24/7 Perinatal HIV Hotline, Perinatal case management and rapid HIV testing at every birthing hospital in Illinois. Our case management program exemplifies our prevention efforts in providing reproductive health and HIV care to disenfranchised HIV-infected women in Illinois. PACPI has a strong commitment to serving high-risk pregnant women living with HIV/AIDS and has provided culturally responsive case management, education, links to social services, and 24/7 support to nearly 100 women living with HIV and their children annually.
Support me in my training and to reach my fundraising goal. This is my first triathlon and I really need your support! Together, we can TRIUMPH over HIV/AIDS. (Click the “Sponsor Me” button to the left.)
Thank you!
