Friends and Family,

Last October I ran the Men's Health Magazine Urbanathlon with several friends, a personal challenge and goal (10.5 miles with obstacles). This year I’ve decided to take on a new challenge, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon on August 2. Not only will this race represent a new personal goal, I will be raising money for a great organization, AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). From now until August several times a week I’ll be up at the crack of dawn and hitting the streets as some of you are getting into a nice hot shower or enjoying a cup of coffee. No more crazy Friday nights, now Saturday is a different story! Overall, I expect to log about 300 miles!

I've never fundraised before, and never thought I’d run 13.1 miles! Times are rough now, but please consider giving up coffee or vodka for a week or skip going out to dinner to donate to the AFC, (tax deductible). A $20 donation comes out to be around 8 cents/mile, $50 donation is .16/mile, and $100 is .33/mile. To show my support, I'll donate $3.33 per mile.

I'm blessed in so many ways, I have amazing friends, family and coworkers. If you can support this financially, thank you! If you can't, thank you in advance for your moral support when I am aching or don't want to keep going.

The AFC is leading the fight against HIV/AIDS in the Chicago area by funding prevention programs and services such as medical care, food/housing, to stop the spread of HIV and help people live full and productive lives until there’s a cure.
