Friends and Family,
This year I decided to train for the Chicago Marathon on October 11th, while raising money for people living with AIDS in the Chicagoland area. I am training for the marathon with the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). So, last month I began by saying goodbye to sleeping in on Saturdays, getting up at 6:00am to hit the streets with my fellow marathoners. Between now and October, we’ll be gradually making our way up to 26.2 miles on marathon day. On the morning of April 25th I joined the training group and ran 3 miles. This last Saturday we were up to 8 miles and overall, I expect to run about 500 miles before the marathon even begins!
In addition to training several times each week, I’ve committed to raise $2,000 for the AFC. To that end, I am asking you to join in my effort by lending your support. I know it’s a difficult time for many to give money, but I would be so grateful for any donation you can make to help me reach my goal. The money raised from the AIDS Marathon Training Program will allow the AFC to fund direct medical care, food, housing, and other vital AIDS services -- to help people with HIV/AIDS to live full and productive lives.
Please donate by clicking the green “Sponsor Me” button above to help me reach my fundraising goal. Thank you so much for supporting not only me, but also the countless people living with HIV/AIDS in Chicago.
With love and many thanks, Elizabeth
