Outreach, recruitment, retention, and fundraising are the priority goals of the AIDS Run & Walk Chicago planning committee. To further engage the community about the event, the committee has established the “Do It With Me” campaign to motivate and educate consumers.

How It Works
At the permission of participating businesses, during the weekend of September 8-11, two-to-four volunteers will be stationed at your establishment, wearing official AIDS Run & Walk Chicago t-shirts, to engage your patrons about the AIDS Run & Walk Chicago, encouraging them to form or join a team, fundraise, or make a donation to the event.

If the consumer signs up for the event or makes a donation of any amount, they will receive the official “Do It With Me” sticker, informing others of their involvement with the event.

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago will promote the campaign via its Run & Walk Web site and through e-marketing and social media (10,000), which will list all participating establishments, and dates and times that volunteers will be located at your establishment. As partners in this venture, we encourage participating businesses to inform its patrons about this event.

A Special Thanks to Participating Businesses
Each year, we host an exclusive event for our Super Striders, the elite group of individuals who raise more than $1,000 each in support of HIV/AIDS programs and Services. Participating businesses' will also be invited to this event.

Next Steps
AIDS Foundation of Chicago and members of the AIDS Run & Walk Chicago Planning Committee will manage the campaign.

The Beneficiary: AIDS FOUNDATION OF CHICAGO
AIDS Run & Walk Chicago benefits the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) – the Midwest’s largest private source of philanthropic support for AIDS, a model of service coordination, and Illinois’ principle advocate for people affected by HIV/AIDS.

All event proceeds will be directed to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s grant making program, which has provided community-based agencies nearly $18 million in support since 1988. The AIDS Foundation of Chicago works to ensure that available funds are directed to services and communities most in need. AFC grant reviewers meet with members of the AIDS-impacted communities to discuss emerging trends and identify gaps in services. AFC gives funding priority to community-based agencies serving and governed by people of color in recognition of the disproportionate impact that the disease is having on African-American, Latino and communities of color.

Thank you for your continued support of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago!
