I will be participating in the 2007 AIDS Run & Walk Chicago. Please support my efforts by making a pledge or joining me at this critical event to fight HIV/AIDS! The event will be held on Saturday, September 15 in Grant Park at the corner of Columbus and Balbo. The 5K run begins at 9:55 a.m. and the 5K walk begins at 10:00 a.m.
Although medical advancements have changed AIDS from a death sentence to a chronic disease, we are still without a vaccine or a cure. In fact, the HIV infection rate in minority communities and among young gay males is rising. And, there continues to be a dire need for education and social services programs—many of which have recently suffered severe cutbacks because of decreased government funding.
Since it was founded in 2001, AIDS Run & Walk Chicago has netted nearly $1 million to battle the epidemic. When you pledge or make a donation, you help support the organizations whose work is so critical to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
